Crown being drilled to do a root canal
anyone have any success with a crown being drilled to do a root canal without removing the crown? The subject crown is part of a bridge and there is cavity in the tooth with the crown.

OLd Medic Here is what happened to someone else who had a dentist drill through a crown to attempt a root canal: “I had that done= lost the tooth, the crown and the bridge. Ended up with false uppers....

I had what he called a dormant absess? and the root canal went fine other that it taking about an hour. It saved the cost of a new crown. RJ

UPDATE: I sought out and obtained opinions from private specialists and it appears that the prospect for saving that one tooth with a crown is not good at all. Decay under that crown is the reason....
